Computer Vision Syndrome: Tips to Reduce Digital Eye Strain

  • Adjust the Lighting: The light levels in the room will play a role in the rate that your eyes fatigue. Increase the lighting in the room so that you aren’t squinting at the computer screen in a dimly lit area.
  • Ergonomics of the Work Station: Raise the computer screen so that the top of the screen is aligned with your eyes. Adjust the placement of the keyboard and mouse so that you don’t have to reach when you are typing.
  • Reduce Screen Glare: If there is a glare on the screen due to lighting or reflections from the window, reposition the screen to eliminate the glare. You might be able to tilt the screen or change the layout of the office so that the computer doesn’t face the window.
